More Snape, please

My love for Severus Snape is unconfined. Imagine my glee when I stumbled across this shenanigans? It's a fan-made Marauders-era Harry Potter prequel. (I realise I came across this several years after it was made, but I don't care. :)

When the HP fandom came up, I did not participate - for some reason. Anyway, years later I came across Steven Fry's audiobooks and was amazed at how much I loved Severus Snape. Tyrannical, sure, but capable, intelligent, even before the end, I loved this character.
Uf, this video -- I am surprised how much I did not like James, either in the books or the movies.

He's my favourite character in the Harry Potter universe, for sure, for just the reasons you state. A fascinating and complex man. Possibly the way he was treated led to the less appealing aspects of his character.

I was bullied in school (as many people were) and James being a bully in the books and the movies really put me off him. This video was a clear refresh on my urge to give him a good smack in the kisser. Even though the end of this video and his eventual fate in the canon does demonstrate that under the layer of unlikeability, there's a basically decent human being. I guess he's complex too, although I'd rather have Snape any day.

I can't wait to see who is cast as Snape in the HP tv series.
